Qualche settimana fa, @prunella_meschini , la nostra Responsabile Ricerca e Sviluppo, è partita da Livorno per un viaggio tra Colombia e Honduras — due paesi produttori di caffè..

Questi viaggi non servono solo a ricercare i migliori caffè per i nostri clienti, ma sono fondamentali per conoscere direttamente i produttori, instaurare con loro un contatto umano e collaborare nella definizione di metodi e pratiche che garantiscano una produzione di caffè etica, in linea con i valori ESG a cui siamo profondamente legati.

A few weeks ago, Prunella, our Head of Research and Development, left from Livorno for a journey through Colombia and Honduras – two coffee-producing countries.

These trips aren’t just about looking for the best coffees for our clients. They’re important in order to meet producers, building human connections, and working together to define methods and practices making sure an ethical coffee production, aligned with ESG values we deeply believe in.

We shared the journey live in our stories. We have also prepared some reels that summerize highlights.

L'espresso, simbolo indiscusso della cultura italiana, è un metodo di preparazione del caffè che unisce acqua calda e pressione. La sua invenzione risale al 1884, quando Angelo Moriondo presentò la prima macchina espresso a Torino durante l’Esposizione Generale al Valentino. Questo processo produce una bevanda caratterizzata da una crema, che varia dal rosso-brunastro al tigrato, e da con un corpo morbido e vellutato: per una vera e propria esperienza di gusto!

Espresso, a true icon of Italian culture, is a coffee-brewing method that combines hot water and pressure. The invention dates back to 1884 when Angelo Moriondo introduced the first espresso machine in Turin during the General Exposition at Valentino Park. This technique results in a drink characterized by a brownish-red to tiger striped cream and a velvety body: a true sensory experience!

Since 2012, our roof has hosted a photovoltaic system, and over time, we've taken it a step further: we’ve expanded it to its full capacity because we believe in a more sustainable future.
But we didn’t stop there. Now we can store the energy we produce and use it when it’s truly needed, with no waste. This means that the energy collected on a sunny Sunday can finally power our work on Monday morning💡
We’ve also installed electric car charging stations and adopted a monitoring system that allows us to know, in real-time, how much energy we produce, use, and store.

Small, big choices that bring us closer every day to a more mindful way of working.

Dal 2012 il nostro tetto ospita un impianto fotovoltaico, e nel tempo abbiamo fatto un passo in più: lo abbiamo ampliato al massimo della sua capacità, perché crediamo in un futuro più sostenibile.
Ma non ci siamo fermati qui. Ora possiamo accumulare l’energia prodotta e usarla quando serve davvero, senza sprechi. Questo significa che l’energia raccolta in una domenica di sole può finalmente alimentare il nostro lavoro il lunedì mattina💡
Abbiamo anche installato colonnine di ricarica per auto elettriche e adottato un sistema di monitoraggio che ci permette di sapere, in tempo reale, quanta energia produciamo, usiamo e conserviamo.

Piccole, grandi scelte che ci avvicinano ogni giorno di più a un modo di lavorare più consapevole.
